PENAMBAHAN SURFAKTAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN EFEKTIVITAS BEBERAPA JENIS HERBISIDA DALAM MENGENDALIKAN GULMA PADA PERKEBUNAN KELAPA SAWIT MENGHASILKAN (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
This research aimed to determine the effective concentration of surfactants and herbicide active ingredients to control weeds in mature oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) plantations. This research was conducted at Intimegah Bestari Pertiwi Inc. Sungai Ampalau Estate (SAE), Kemang, Sanga Desa, Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra, from November 2022 to February 2023. The research used a factorial randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was the type of herbicide active ingredient: P1 = 2,4-D Dimethyl amine 1,5 l ha-1, P2 = Isopropylamine glyphosate 2,0 l ha-1, P3 = Triclopyr butoxy ethyl ester 1,5 l ha-1. The second factor was surfactant concentration: A0 = 0% (without surfactant), A1 = 10% concentration of surfactant in 100 ml of water, A2 = 20% concentration of surfactant in 100 ml of water and A3 = 30% concentration of surfactant in 100 ml of water. The results showed that, P2A2 treatment (Isopropylamine glyphosate 2,0 l ha-1 with an addition 20% concentration of surfactant) was effective to control total weed growth 12 weeks after application, there was no change in weed dominance before and after herbicide application and the application of herbicides with or without surfactants did not cause symptoms of phytotoxicity in oil palm plants. Keywords: Herbicides, palm oil, surfactants, weeds.
