COVID-19 is a pandemic that has spread to various countries, including Indonesia. South Sumatra Province in 2021 reported 59,955 cumulative cases. Environmental factors are risk factors for the spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to understand the spatial distribution of the disease by producing output information about the relationship between regions and disease occurrence. This research is an ecological study using spatial analysis. The population used is the scope of the South Sumatra Province. Using secondary data analyzed univariate, bivariate, and spatial analysis. The results of the study showed no relations between the population density variable and the wind speed variable in 2020 and 2021 obtained a significance value (>0.05). Meanwhile, the temperature variable in 2021 using monthly scale data has a weak relationship with a positive direction if the air temperature rises, the COVID-19 case will also increase and for air humidity has a moderate relationship with a negative direction if the air humidity is low, the COVID-19 case is high. Spatial analysis shows an increase in very high IR values in 15 districts/cities in 2021. Areas with very dense population density consistently show very high IR in 2020-2021. Suggestions to the Health Office and BMKG of South Sumatra Province to optimize monitoring and intervention to prevent COVID-19, especially in areas that have high temperature and low humidity have a correlation relationship in the spread of COVID-19, and areas with dense population density. to further researchers to increase the scope of the research area (national scale), pay attention to providing results based on experimental and observational studies and consider other variables that affect the spread of COVID-19.
