Land conversion is carried out by farmers because palm oil income is low compared to paddy income if calculated annually. The purposes of this search were 1) Identify the factors causing land conversion from oil palm to rice plantations consisting of age (years), land area (ha), number of dependents (people), farming experience (years), and oil palm income and rice (rp/ha/year) in Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. 2) To determine the socio-economic impact of farmers who convert land from oil palm to rice plants in Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. The research method used is survey method. The sampling method is the census method (saturated sampling) with a total sample of 23 farmers who convert oil palm land into rice plants. The results of this study used multiple linear regression data processing methods which showed that the factors that significantly influenced farmers' decisions in converting oil palm land to rice were rice and oil palm income, while the area of land owned, farming experience, age, and the number of family responsibilities do not significantly influence farmers' decisions in converting oil palm land to rice crops. The socio-economic impacts of farmers after converting their plantations from oil palm to rice yielded a significant value obtained by the Wilcoxon test and paired t-test of 0.001 which showed a significant difference in the socio-economic impacts of farmers before and after converting oil palm land to rice. in Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency Keywords: conversion, income, oil palm, rice
