GAMBARAN KERAGAMAN MAKANAN DAN KAITANNYA TERHADAP STATUS GIZI PADA REMAJA DI SMP N 1 PENDOPO BARAT KABUPATEN EMPAT LAWANG
Adolescents are vulnerable to nutritional problems including malnutrition and overnutrition. In early adolescence there is a growth spurt, namely peak growth in height (peak high velocity) and weight (peak weight velocity). Food diversity plays a role in meeting nutritional needs, both macro and micro. Abnormal nutritional status will result in an impact, one of which is on brain development. The aim of this study was to determine description of food diversity and its relationship to nutritional status in adolescents with an analytical observational research design using by crosssectional method. A total of 92 students were selected using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was done by chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed 85.9% of adolescents had good dietary diversity and most adolescents had good or normal nutritional status (82.6%). Bivariate analysis showed there was a significant relationship between dietary diversity and adolescent nutritional status (p-value = 0.009 PR 95% CI 1.598-8.318). It is recommended for students to increase the consumption of milk, fruit and vegetables sources of vitamin A and green vegetables so that adolescent food consumption is more balanced and limit the consumption of offal.
