National Health Insurance (JKN) participation is an aspect of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) success. However, the majority of pempek traders who are informal sector workers in Kelurahan 26 Ilir are not included as JKN PBPU participants. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to JKN PBPU membership in pempek traders in Kelurahan 26 Ilir, Palembang City. This type of research is quantitative using a cross sectional design. The sample in this study was 56 respondents who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The analysis used was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with Chi Square as a statistical test. The results of the univariate analysis show that pempek traders who are JKN PBPU participants are 35.7%. Bivariate analysis showed the variable results were age (p-value=0.001), gender (p-value=0.003), marital status (p-value=0.000), education (p-value=0.072), number of family members (p-value=0.000), income (p-value=0.000), knowledge (p-value=0.000), information exposure (p-value=0.000), social support (p-value=0.001), behavior smoking (p-value=0.000), perception of health (p-value=0.001), history of catastrophic disease (p-value=0.000). The conclusion in this study is that 35.7% of pempek traders are registered as JKN PBPU participants. There is a relationship between JKN PBPU membership and age, gender, marital status, number of family members, income, knowledge, information exposure, social support, smoking behavior, health perceptions and history of catastrophic diseases. Then there is no relationship between education and JKN PBPU membership in pempek traders in Kelurahan 26 Ilir. Suggestions for BPJS Health to maximize socialization and education related to the utilization of health services using the National Health Insurance (JKN).
