The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an indicator that can describe the health status of the community in an area so that it is one of the SDGs targets, namely reducing the MMR ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births in 2030. The MMR in South Sumatera Province in 2020 has experienced an increase of 27% compared to the previous year and will rise again in 2021 to 85 per 100,000 live births. Spatial analysis is useful for knowing the spatial pattern of MMR and its determinants as well as the spatial relationship between MMR and its determinants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of MMR that correlated spatially with MMR in South Sumatera Province. This study uses an ecological study design using secondary data from the Health Office, BKKBN, and BPS of South Sumatera Province. Data analysis was performed using the Global Moran's I test, and LISA. The results of the Global Moran's I bivariate show that there is no global spatial autocorrelation between the determinants of MMR, namely coverage of complete ANC visits, coverage of births assisted by health personnel, coverage of complete postpartum visits, coverage of family planning participation, coverage of obstetric complications management, coverage of administration of iron tablets, Age specific fertility rates (ASFR) for women aged 15-19 years old, and average length of schooling for women with MMR in South Sumatera Province. While the BiLISA results show that there is a local spatial autocorrelation between the determinants of MMR and MMR in Musi Rawas Regency. There is a need for increased cooperation between the Health Office, and local governments, both at the provincial and district/city levels regarding efforts to reduce MMR in areas with high MMR.
