HUBUNGAN PAJANAN RADIASI SINAR ULTRAVIOLET DENGAN GEJALA PHOTOKERATITIS PADA PEKERJA BENGKEL LAS DI KELURAHAN BANDAR JAYA LAHAT TAHUN 2020
Photokeratitis is inflammation of the cornea caused by light such as sunlight or other artificial ultraviolet light sources, the ultraviolet light that is captured by the eye is absorbed by the outer tissue layer of the cornea and conjunctiva, by reaching slightly to the lens or the inside of the eye. This research was conducted to analyze ultraviolet radiation, worker factors and personal protective equipment factors that can affect the risk of photokeratitis symptoms in welding workshop workers. This study used a cross sectional design with total sampling method with a total sample of 43 respondents from 4 welding workshop locations Data were collected through interviews and direct measurements. The data collection tools used were questionnaires, roll meter, and Solarmeter Digital UV Radiometer Model 5.0 Standard UVA+B. The results of the study statistically showed that there was a significant relationship between measurements of ultraviolet light radiation with p-value = 0,000 (p α) , working period p-value = 1,000 (p> α), welding distance p-value = 0.664 (p> α), and the use of personal protective equipment p-value = 0.736 (p> α) did not show a significant relationship statistically. It can be concluded that the variable measurement of ultraviolet light radiation and the length of exposure can be at risk of causing photokeratitis symptoms in welding workshop workers, it is recommended that business owners carry out periodic health checks on workers, especially in the eye area.
