Feed is an important factor in supporting growth. Soybean meal is one of the raw materials used in the process of making feed as a source of vegetable protein. However, soybean raw materials are relatively expensive raw materials, so an alternative that can be used as a substitute for soybean meal is sword bean meal. This study aimed to determine the percentage of the best use of sword bean meal in different feed formulations. This research was conducted at the Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan dan Kolam Percobaan, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, in February-March 2023. This study used a complete randomized design consisting of five treatments and three replications. The treatment given was the use of sword bean meal in feed formulation with different percentages for kissing gourami. P0 (0% sword bean meal and 30% soybean meal), P1 (7.5% sword bean meal and 22.5% soybean meal), P2 (15% sword bean meal and 15% soybean meal), P3 (22.5% sword bean meal and 7.5% soybean meal) and P4 (30% sword bean meal and 0% soybean meal). The results showed that the P1 treatment of 7.5% sword bean meal was the best treatment that resulted in an absolute weight growth of 0.75 g, absolute length of 0.23 cm, feed efficiency of 16.20%, protein efficiency ratio of 0.74 and survival of 95%. The quality of water obtained during maintenance is temperature 25.6-29.9℃, pH 5.89-7.02, dissolved oxygen 3.9-5.5 mg L-1 and ammonia 0.02-0.09 mg L-1.
