ANALISIS PENGENDALIAN VEKTOR MALARIA DAN KONDISI LINGKUNGAN DI KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM
Muara Enim Regency is one of the low malaria endemic areas so it has not yet received a malaria elimination certificate and is known as a district with a high number of cases indigenous highest in South Sumatra. The research objective was to analyze malaria vector control and environmental conditions in Muara Enim District. This research is qualitative with variables in the form of physical, chemical and biological vector control as well as environmental conditions. 20 informants were randomly selected purposive. Methods of data collection by FGD, in-depth interviews, observation and document review. Data analysis through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results show that physical vector control of environmental modification and manipulation has never been carried out and the use of wire mesh in people's homes is not optimal. Chemical vector control such as distribution of insecticide treated nets and Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) was last carried out in 2019 because Muara Enim currently has a low endemic status, the use of insecticide-treated nets is not used by community informants, the spread of larvicides is mostly done when there are cases. Biological vector control by stocking larvae-eating fish has never been carried out by the community health center as the research sample. The existence of pools of ex-coal mining excavations, rice fields, forests, gardens, bushes and streams are environmental conditions that are often found in Muara Enim Regency. It was concluded that efforts to control malaria vectors in Muara Enim Regency still experienced several obstacles such as limited funds and materials, large areas, and community acceptance so that further efforts were needed such as increasing financial support, inter cooperation and the active role of the community to accelerate malaria elimination.
