ANALISIS RISIKO PAPARAN DEBU SEMEN TERHADAP KESEHATAN PERNAPASAN PEKERJA DI CEMENT GRINDING AND PACKING PT. X
The negative effect of the Portland cement production process is the emergence of dust which has the potential to cause contamination or pollution in the air and can have acute and chronic health effects, especially on the respiratory system and the performance of lung function. This study aims to analyze the risk of exposure to cement dust on the respiratory health of workers in the cement grinding and packing of PT. X. The research method was carried out in 2 stages, namely the first stage of the Environmental Health Risk Analysis approach to assess the risk of exposure to cement dust and the second stage an observational analysis with a cross sectional study design to analyze the relationship between the risk of exposure to cement dust and its characteristics with the respiratory health of workers. The research sample consisted of 62 workers and 20 dust measurement points on the cement grinding and packing. Data analysis used Chi Square test, Fisher's Exact, Correlation, Multiple Linear Regression and Multiple Logistic Regression. Respirable area dust measurement results obtained an average of 0.33 mg/m3. The risk of exposure to dust in the respirable area with a risk level (RQ> 1) was 12.9%. The results of spirometry measurements showed 18 workers (29%) had lung function problems and the results of interviews using the ATS DLD 78 A questionnaire found that 24 workers (38.7%) had symptoms of respiratory disease. The results of statistical tests show that there was a significant relationship between age, height, and length of work with the FVC and FEV1 spirometric values. There was a significant relationship between the risk of exposure to dust in the respirable area (p value 0.014) with lung function (FVC) and there was a significant relationship between the risk of exposure to dust in the respirable area (p value 0.047) with symptoms of respiratory disease. The conclusion is that there was a significant relationship between the risk of exposure to cement dust and respiratory health of workers at Cement Grinding and Packing PT X.
