Breast milk is the perfect food for babies, especially during the first six months of life. Breast milk nutrition can be influenced by the mother's diet and nutritional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and iron intake with iron levels in breast milk of breastfeeding mothers in Seluma District in 2023. This research is an analytic observational study with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in Seluma District (Tais City Health Center, Masmambang Health Center, Talang Tinggi Health Center, and Rimbo Kedui Health Center) in March 2023. The population in this study were all mothers breastfeeding babies aged 0-6 months. The sample in this study were 78 breastfeeding mothers who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Nutritional status is obtained by measuring height and weight and calculated using the calculation of the Body Mass Index (BMI) formula. Iron intake was obtained by conducting a Semi-FFQ (Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Quotionaire) interview. Breas tmilk iron levels were carried out by spectrophotometry. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between nutritional status and breast milk iron levels(p=0.762>0.05) and there was no significant relationship between iron intake and iron levels in breast milk (p=0.291). However, from 14 mothers with sufficient iron intake, 92.9% of breast milk iron levels were classified as normal.
