ABSTRACT Background: Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a score obtained through an intelligence test, which is a sign of brain development or intellectual intelligence which in the world of education is useful for knowing individual learning achievements that can be achieved. Intellectual intelligence in children is influenced by nutritional factors, lack of nutrients results in fewer neuron cells being formed which results in a child's intellectual thinking ability also decreasing which can be seen from lower IQ scores compared to children of the same age with balanced nutrition. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between Insulin Growth Factor (IGF-1) Levels and intelligence levels in elementary school children in Musi Rawas Regency. Methods: This research is an analytic observational study using a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 77 children taken randomly from elementary school children in Musi Rawas Regency. Data on the characteristics of children and parents were obtained through a questionnaire, while data on serum IGF-1 levels were obtained by the ELISA method. The level of intelligence was measured by the CFIT method and data on levels of IGF-1 associated with the level of intelligence were analyzed using a linear regression test. Results: The results of a simple linear regression analysis between serum IGF-1 levels and the intelligence level (IQ) of children obtained p = 0.000 and B = 0.270, which means that every 1% increase in IGF-1 levels will add 0.270 to a greater level of intelligence. With a p value of less than 0.05, there is a significant relationship between serum IGF-1 levels and intelligence level. Keywords: Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Insulin Like Growth Factor-1 serum, Elementary school children
