HUBUNGAN STATUS GIZI DAN RIWAYAT PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DENGAN HASIL PRESTASI BELAJAR ANAK DI SDN 05 INDRALAYA KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
Learning achievement is the level of student’s ability in receiving, rejecting, and assessing information obtained from the teaching and learning process. One of the indicators of learning achievement is determined by changes in students’ cognitive competency. Cognitive intelligence is closely related to someone’s nutritional status. Malnutrition can interfere with a child’s motivation, ability to concentrate, and ability to learn. Exclusive breastfeeding for growth will also affect learning achievement. It is because breast milk contains various nutrients that are needed in brain growth. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and exclusive breastfeeding history with learning achievement of children at SDN 05 Indralaya, Ogan Ilir regency. This study was a quantitative study with cross sectional design that involving 80 students of SDN 05 Indralaya from grade 1-3. Samples were taken by purposive sampling. The results found that 59 children (73,8%) had normal nutritional status and only 27 children (33,8%) had exclusive breastfeeding history. The chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between nutritional status with learning achievement of children at SDN 05 Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency (p-value = 0,007). And also there was relationship between exclusive breastfeeding history with learning achievement of children at SDN 05 Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency (p-value = 0,04). In conclusion, children who are exclusively brestfed and have normal nutritional status will have better learning achievement.
