Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Year 2020 Xv + 88 pages, 17 table, 13 attachments ABSTRACT The field of emergency is a major cause of stress in the work environment. Emergency Installation of Dr. RSUP. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang has a total of 105,5275 patients from 2017-2020, which means that he has to handle 91 patients per day, which demands an increase in health services, especially in the field of nursing which can increase the mental workload on emergency room nurses. This study is to determine the level of mental workload on Emergency Room Nurses using the Nasa-Task Load Index method. This study uses a descriptive observational method with a qualitative approach. To find out more about mental workload with in-depth interviews and observation methods. Determination of the sample using a purposive technique with a total of 13 informants. This study shows that the first highest mental demand dimension value with an average of 400.4, the second highest overall performance dimension value with an average of 302.6, the third highest effort dimension value with an average of 217.6, the fourth highest temporal demand dimension value with an average of 175.8 , the fifth highest frustration dimension value with an average of 115.8, and the lowest physical demand dimension value compared to the other five dimensions with an average of 90. The average mental workload of emergency room nurses is 91 which is classified as a heavy mental workload so it is necessary to monitoring the mental workload of nurses by conducting periodic surveys.
