Pneumonia is one of the diseases with the highest mortality rate in toddlers. The leading cause of pneumonia is the streptococcus pneumonia virus. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the physical environment of the house and the behavior suggested by the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers in the Gandus Health Center, Palembang City working area. This quantitative research uses a cross-sectional design using a purposive random sampling technique. The number of samples was 86 respondents in the Gandus Health Center, Palembang City working area. Data analysis was carried out in stages, namely univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of each research variable, bivariate analysis to determine the relationship between variables based on the Chi-square test, and multivariate analysis to determine the most dominant variable based on multiple logistic regression tests. The results of the univariate analysis showed that 34 respondents, or (39.5%) had pneumonia. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers and household density (P-Value=0.000), ventilation area (P-Value=0.000), humidity (P-Value=0.005), smoking behavior (P-Value=0.000 ). They did not show a relationship between the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers and lighting (P-Value = 1,000), house temperature (P-Value = 0.406), type of floor (P-Value = 1,000), type of ceiling (P-Value = 0.219). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that the most significant variable on the incidence of pneumonia was smoking status (PR=21,190, Cl 95% 2,255-199,162) after being controlled by household density, ventilation area, humidity, and ceiling type. The Community Health Center is expected to be able to provide counseling to the community regarding healthy homes so that the community understands more about the requirements of the house and be able to clean the house and open the windows and doors of the house every day so that sunlight and fresh air can prevent the spread of the Pneumonia virus.
