UJI AKTIVITAS SENYAWA ANTIFOULING DARI FRAKSI DAUN AVICENNIA ALBA BLUME SEBAGAI ANTIFOULING ALAMI DI DERMAGA SUNGSANG, SUMATERA SELATAN
Impurity biota or biofouling is a living organism that attaches to a substrate, be it a hard substrate or a soft substrate. Attachment and growth of living organisms on exposed surfaces in aquatic environments is a serious problem. In general, this impurity biota is found on sea transportation such as boats used by fishermen to find fish, but it can also be found on bridges or pier pillars. Generally, antifouling paint is used to prevent biofouling from sticking, but antifouling paint can cause TBT which is harmful to non-target organisms and can even cause death. One way that can be done is to use mangrove plants as natural antifouling plants such as Avicennia alba. This study aims to determine what types of metabolites are contained in the leaves of the Avicennia alba plant, to determine the effect of adding Avicennia alba leaf fractions in inhibiting macrofouling attachment, and to determine the effect of different plate surfaces on macrofouling attachment. Parameters measured were macrofouling biomass and macrofouling attachment area were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's test for further testing. The results showed that the addition of Avicennia alba leaf extract had no significant effect (p>0.005) on the attachment area and biomass.
