IDENTIFIKASI DAN ANALISIS KELIMPAHAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA SEDIMEN DAN MAKROZOOBENTOS (CERITHIDEA CINGULATA DAN ANADARA GRANOSA) DI PERAIRAN TAMAN NASIONAL SEMBILANG, SUMATERA SELATAN
Population growth and increased industry is one of the contributing factors to environmental pollution. One of the most common pollutants is plastic waste. Plastic waste in the water will be degraded into smaller sizes called microplastics. Microplastic particles in the waters can accidentally be consumed by biota such as macrozoobenthos which can cause interference with organ function. Microplastics that accumulate in the meat of macrozoobenthos can then contaminate humans through the food chain. This study aims to analyze the type, type and abundance of microplastics in sediments and makozoobentos. This research was conducted in December 2022 in the waters of Sembilang National Park, South Sumatra. Identification of microplastic type using binocular microscope and identification of microplastic polymer type using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) method. Four types of microplastics were obtained, namely fiber, fragment, film and pellet. Abundance of microplastics in sediments including; ST1 (7.22 particles/g), ST2 (7.14 particles/g), ST3 (5.4 particles/g), ST4 (4.86 particles/g). Abundance of microplastics in biota; ST1 (5.3 particles/g), ST2 (5.6 particles/g), ST3 (7.7 particles/g), ST4 (5.4 particles/g). In this study found the type of polymer Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), Polyamide (PA), Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), and Polysterene (PS).
