PERBANDINGAN STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS FITOPLANKTON DI PERAIRAN MUARA SUNGAI MUSI DAN SUNGAI BANYUASIN
The Musi River and Banyuasin River are rivers in South Sumatra and have an important role for various community activities. However, this has an impact on the presence of phytoplankton in the waters. This study aims to analyze the abundance, diversity, uniformity and dominance of phytoplankton. The results of the 12-station study found 9 genera in the class Bacillariophyceae (Asterionellopsis, Bacteriastrum, Chaetoceros, Cerataulina, Coscinodiscus, Lioloma, Stephanodiscus, Skeletonema, Thalassionema), 1 genus in the class Cyanophyceae (Planktothrix) and 1 genus in the class Dinophyceae (Protoperidinium). The results of the analysis show that the two waters have abundance and parameters that are not significantly different. The Muara Sungai Musi has an abundance value range of 23-39 ind/L with low diversity, high uniformity and no dominance. The Banyuasin Estuary has an abundance value range of 27-441 ind/L, low diversity, moderate uniformity and dominance. The results of observations of the physico-chemical parameters of the waters show that both waters are categorized as good for the growth and development of phytoplankton.
