The Tanjung Api-Api area is a living habitat for the Sonneratia caseolaris mangrove. Mangrove S. caseolaris is a strong to very strong antioxidant with an IC50 value of 12.0013 ppm in leaf extract. Extract from mangrove leaves S. caseolaris contains high antioxidant compounds that can prevent inflammation and can accelerate wound healing. Anti-inflammatory research from plants was triggered by public interest in liking and believing in conventional medicine which is believed to be safer and has fewer side effects compared to synthetic drugs. Treatment using traditional or natural medicinal plants is generally considered safer than use of modern medicine. This is because traditional medicine has relatively fewer side effects than modern medicine. This research was conducted in October 2022 in the Tanjung Api-Api Area, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra with coordinates LS (2°3'161") and BT (104°84'86"). The method used in this study was by inducing carrageenan on the soles of mice. The results showed that the highest dose of mangrove leaf extract of S. caseolaris was found in the group of mangrove leaf extract at a dose of 150 mg/KgBW using a digital caliper and pletismometer. Compounds that are thought to provide anti-inflammatory activity are alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids and phenols.
