UJI TOKSISITAS SUBKRONIS FRAKSI ETANOL DAUN UBI JALAR UNGU (Ipomoea batatas L.) TERHADAP TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR
Purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is a traditional medicine whose safety needs to be tested, one of which is the subchronic test. Purple sweet potato contains secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids which have pharmacological activity as an anti-inflammatory. This study aims to determine the effect of subchronic toxicity of the ethanol fraction of (Ipomoea batatas L.) leaves on male white rats of the Wistar strain. The study was divided into 4 groups, namely the normal control group (Na CMC 0,5%), the ethanol fraction of purple sweet potato leaves (122 mg/KgBW), the ethanol fraction of purple sweet potato leaves (244 mg/KgBW), and the normal control group (Na CMC 0,5%). ethanol fraction of purple sweet potato leaves (488 mg/KgBW). Based on the research results, the highest average hemoglobin parameters was at a dose of 122 mg/KgBW 14,73 ± 1,45, the highest erythrocytes at a dose of 122 mg/KgBW 8,5 ± 0,78 and the highest leukocytes at a dose of 122 mg/KgBW 16,92 ±1,63 and blood biochemical parameters showed the highest average AST level at a dose of 488 mg/KgBW 209,13±70,74, the highest SGPT level at a dose of 488 mg/KgBW 91,97±14,15, the highest creatinine level at dose of 488 mg/Kg BW of 0,63 ± 0,05 and the highest urea level at a dose of 122 mg/Kg BW of 39,90 ± 10,69. The ethanol fraction of purple sweet potato leaves had an effect on blood hematological parameters but had no effect on rat blood biochemical parameters. Giving the ethanol fraction of purple sweet potato leaves did not cause toxic effects on rats. The higher the dose of the ethanol fraction of purple sweet potato leaves, the less toxic it is.
