KANDUNGAN NUTRIEN NITRAT (NO3) DAN FOSFAT (PO4) PADA SEDIMEN EKOSISTEM MANGROVE DAN PERAIRAN PULAU MASPARI KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR SUMATERA SELATAN
The presence of nitrate and phosphate in the sediment will support the life of organisms that live around the mangrove area and in the water column. The level of nitrate phosphate in the sediment will affect the fertility of mangroves and waters. Maspari Island is a small uninhabited island, so information about the status of Maspari Island is still very limited, especially regarding the condition of its waters. This research was conducted in February 2023 to analyze water quality, knowing the content of nitrate and phosphate in mangrove sediments and coastal sediments, studying the relationship between nitrate and phosphate concentrations and the condition of sediment texture on Maspari Island, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The results of the study showed that the quality of the waters in mangrove sediments and coastal waters for temperature, pH, and salinity still met the quality standards under KepMenLH No. 51 of 2004, while DO is not by seawater quality standards. Nitrate content in mangrove sediments averaged 5.09 mg/kg, and nitrate in coastal sediments averaged 3.19 mg/kg. Phosphate in mangrove sediments averaged 8.24 mg/kg, and phosphate in coastal sediments averaged 6.51 mg/kg. The relationship between nitrate and phosphate concentrations and sediment texture, namely the correlation of nitrate with mangrove sediments, -0.96, and the correlation of nitrate with coastal sediments, namely, 0.24. The correlation value of phosphate with mangrove sediments is 0.49, and the correlation of phosphate with coastal sediments is -0.19.
