UJI EFEK ANTIDIABETES FRAKSI ETANOL BUNGA TELANG (Clitoria ternatea L.) PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR YANG DIINDUKSI ALOKSAN
Butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea L.) contains secondary metabolites of anthocyanins and flavonoids which have antidiabetic activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of lowering blood glucose levels of the ethanol fraction of butterfly pea flowers. The experimental divided into 6 groups namely normal and negative control groups with 0.5% NaCMC, positive control with insulin 1 IU/kgBW, and the ethanol fraction of butterfly pea flowers at doses of 100, 200 and 300 mg/kgBW. The rats were induced with alloxan 125 mg/kgBW until their blood glucose ≥126 mg/dL, then it was administered by the ethanol fraction of butterfly pea flowers for 14 days. Based on research results, the percentage reduction in blood glucose levels of rats given the butterfly pea flowers fraction were significantly different from the negative control (p 0.05). The ED50 value of the ethanol fraction of butterfly pea flowers as antidiabetic obtained was 191.01 mg/kgBW. Histopathological examination was performed using hematoxylin-eosin staining. Dose of 300 mg/kgBW had a better effect on repairing pancreatic beta cells than doses of 100 and 200 mg/kgBW.
