ISOLASI DAN IDENTIFIKASI BAKTERI PENDEGRADASI LIMBAH MIKROPLASTIK SECARA BIOKIMIA PADA SEDIMEN DARI PERAIRAN SUNGAI MUSI
The waters of the Musi River are generally known as one of the transportation crossing routes, both for industrial transportation and for the surrounding community, besides that the Musi River is often used for bathing, washing and daily activities by the surrounding community such as disposing of plastic waste. Therefore pollution in the Musi River is an important matter to study. Waste is a pollutant for the aquatic environment which is often found mainly coming from the mainland. The purpose of this study was to identify microplastic degrading bacteria and analyze the bacterial degradation activity. This research was conducted from September 2021 to June 2022 using sediment and microplastic samples and measurements of water quality such as temperature (°C), salinity (ppm), pH, and current speed (mis). Identification of bacteria by biochemical test method. The results of the research based on biochemical testing guided by Bergey’s Manual of Determinative Bacteriology obtained 10 types of bacteria namely A. hydrophila, H.elongata, X. nematophilus, P. immobilis, P. alcaligenes, Sterptobacillus, P. syringae, A. nasoniae, O, anthropi, and D. nigrificans. The type of bacteria with the best degradation ability was Pseudomonas syringae bacteria with 48%.
