EVALUASI PENGGUNAAN ANTIBIOTIK PADA PASIEN BRONKOPNEUMONIA PEDIATRI DENGAN METODE GYSSENS DI INSTALASI RAWAT INAP RS ISLAM SITI KHADIJAH PALEMBANG
The irrationality of high-use antibiotics for infectious diseases can cause the result of failing to achieve therapeutic goals. One of these contagious diseases is bronchopneumonia, a condition with inflammation in the lungs marked by infiltrate spots around the bronchi. Bronchopneumonia is one of the leading infectious causes of death in children under five. This study aims to examine and evaluate the use of antibiotics in Pediatric Bronchopneumonia patients at RS Islam Siti Khadijah Palembang from January 2021 - December 2021 using the Gyssens Method. This study used a descriptive method and collected data retrospectively. The research sample obtained 37 data that met the inclusion criteria. The results obtained based on the profile of the most prescribed antibiotics were single antibiotic ceftriaxone in 11 patients (30.56%) and combination antibiotics of ampicillin and ceftazidime in 15 patients (41.67%). The results of the analysis evaluating the use of antibiotics based on 13 categories using the Gyssens method obtained results of 80.70% rational use of antibiotics (category 0), 8.77% use of antibiotics not on the time of administration (category I), 3.51% use of antibiotics not on the correct dose (category IIa), 1.75% used antibiotics for too short a period (category IIIb), and 5.26% used antibiotics there are cheaper alternatives (category IVc). Evaluation of antibiotics use in pediatric bronchopneumonia patients in inpatient installation of RS Islam Siti Khadijah Palembang in this study was accordance with the Gyssens method and management guidelines used as a reference, and it was found that rational antibiotic use was more dominant than irrational.
