ANALISIS DAERAH RAWAN BENCANA TANAH LONGSOR BERBASIS SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS DI KABUPATEN KARO SUMATERA UTARA
ABSTRACT Landslides are caused by slope material moving downhill out of the slope. The occurrence of landslides originates from something that causes the slope to be unstable and causes the soil to be unable to withstand shear forces. Karo Regency has several landslide-prone areas, so landslide mitigation is needed to prevent long-term adverse impacts. Many factors cause landslides in Berastagi sub-district, such as slope between 35% to 55%, unstable lithology or constituent material with volcanic breccia and riodasite tuff, and the main triggering factor is rainfall and high water content. The utilization of computers in data handling in general encourages the utilization of geographic data handling, one of the applications that develops in line with these developments is Geographic Information System (GIS). ArcGis 10 which processes geographic information system database will be in the form of raster data. Landslide prone areas based on BNPB reference are divided into three levels: low vulnerability level with a percentage of 5.58% and an area of 7605.090938 Ha, medium vulnerability level has a percentage of 36.77% and an area of 50077.163923 Ha. High vulnerability level has a percentage of 57.63% and an area of 78489.24079 Ha. While the formulation of landslide prone areas based on PVMBG is divided into 3 levels, namely, low level of vulnerability has a percentage of 8.34% and an area of 18115.307029 Ha. Medium level of vulnerability has a percentage of 36.39% and an area of 79027.958229 Ha, and high level of vulnerability has a percentage of 55.26% and an area of 119991.753535 Ha.
