ETNOBOTANI TUMBUHAN OBAT PENYAKIT DEGENERATIF PADA SUKU BESEMAH KABUPATEN LAHAT PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Community knowledge about the use of plants as medicine by the Besemah tribe in Jarai District and Sukamerindu District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province has long been used for generations. The use of plants as medicine is one of the efforts to maintain the customs and traditions of the Besemah tribe community. This study aims to inventory and identify the types of medicinal plants, the method of processing and the method of using medicinal plants used to treat degenerative diseases, knowing the use value of the species, the use value of the family and the use value of the part of the plant used, the plant and the typical method of use. to treat degenerative diseases in the Basemah tribe in Jarai District and Sukamerindu District, Lahat Regency. This research was conducted from January to March 2023, which are located in Jarai District and Sukamerindu District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted using a descriptive survey method and field observations were conducted by interviewing 9 traditional healers (battra) as resource persons using a questionnaire. The research results show that there are 95 species belonging to 43 families. This study also found typical plants from the Besemah tribe, khabai (Polygonum hydropiper), tetap kadam (Hodgsonia macrocarpa), memaye (Leea indica (Burm.f.) Merr), empedu beruang (Brucea javanica (L). Merr, sedingin hutan (Fissistigma fulgens) and a typical processing method, namely cutting the stems by collecting water from the cut stems into a bottle. The most widely used species is lime (Citrus aurantifolia) with a species use value of 1.22 where lime is used in 10 degenerative disease treatments. The most widely used families are the Euphorbiaceae, Polygonaceae, Caricaceae families with a family utility value of 0.66. The part of the plant that is most widely used is the leaves with a percentage of 29%. Keywords: Besemah tribe, Ethnobotany, degenerative disease, medicinal plants.
