ANALISIS PROKSIMAT PADA EKSTRAK RUMPUT LAUT Eucheuma cottoni dan Eucheuma spinosum DARI PERAIRAN KETAPANG, PROVINSI LAMPUNG
Proximate analysis includes the determination of protein content, moisture content, ash content, fat content, and carbohydrate content, which play a crucial role in determining the composition and quality of the raw material for a food product. This research utilized two types of seaweed, E. cottonii and E. spinosum, with the aim of analyzing their proximate content and making a comparison between the two types of seaweed. The goal was to provide information and knowledge regarding the potential of both types of seaweed samples collected from the waters of Ketapang, Lampung Province. The analyses conducted included: protein content using the Kjeldahl method, moisture and ash content following AOAC methods, fat content using Soxhlet extraction, and carbohydrates using the by-difference method. The research results showed that the proximate content of E. cottonii seaweed had a protein content of 4.81%, moisture content of 16.83%, ash content of 31.76%, fat content of 7.57%, and carbohydrate content of 39.03%. Meanwhile, the proximate content of E. spinosum seaweed had a protein content of 4.85%, moisture content of 25.3%, ash content of 36.4%, fat content of 4.24%, and carbohydrate content of 29.14%.
