MORFOLOGI DAUN NIPAH (Nypa fruticans (Thunb.) Wurmb.) PADA TINGKAT SALINITAS BERBEDA DI KAWASAN MANGROVE BANYUASIN PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Nipah is a species of mangrove palm that lives on the back of the mangrove zone. Nipah has morphological adaptations that can be seen on leaf organs at a certain levels of salinity. Research on morphological adaptation of Nipah in Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra is still limited, so it is necessary to do research on the form of morphological adaptation in Nipah with different levels of salinity. This study aimed to determine the morphology of Nipah leaves at different salinity levels in the Banyuasin mangrove area. The study was counduct from January - March 2023. Sampling site were located in Muara Sungai Lalan, Pulau Payung, and Tanjung Buyut. The research phase consists of determining sampling locations, determining Nipah leaf samples, and measuring abiotic factors. The observed parameters include the length of the compound leaf, the length and width of the central leaflet, and the color of the leaflet. The study showed that there were some differences morphology of the leaves in three sampling location with different levels of salinity. The longest compound leaves with an average value of 1.105 cm was found in Tanjung Buyut. The middle leaflet has the longest average value in the Pulau Payung by 128.20 cm at salinity 4-7‰. Nipah leaflet with the widest value was on the Pulau Payung by 7.11 cm. The color of the Nipah leaflet with the dominance of the color code 141A with the category of was in the Tanjung Buyut area.
