KARAKTERISTIK MORFOLOGI KARAGENAN RUMPUT LAUT EUCHEUMA SPINOSUM BERDASARKAN VARIABEL WAKTU, KONSENTRASI KOH YANG BERBEDA DAN SEM (SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY)
Seaweed is filtered based on the chemical compounds it contains, so that it is known as carrageenan-producing seaweed (carrageenophyte). E. spinosum seaweed is a type of carrageenan-producing seaweed (iota carrageenan). Treatment factors such as time and KOH concentration can affect the quality of the carrageenan produced. The aims of this study were to analyze the best time and KOH concentration for extracting E. spinosum seaweed carrageenan by optimizing CCD (Design-Expert 12) and to analyze the structure of the constituent elements of E. spinosum seaweed carrageenan extract based on different time and KOH concentration treatments. with SEMS. Based on the RSM value, it means that the treatment time factor and KOH concentration have an influence on the yield response value. The relationship between the variable and the yield response is modeled as Y= 63.94 -0.1667A+4.16B+5.98AB-4.77 A²-10.30. The optimal response value is the extraction time of 120, 13.97% KOH will produce 61.497% yield with a Desirability value of 0.878. The macro elements that make up E. spinosum carrageenan detected by SEM are oxygen, carbon and potassium and the micro elements that make up carrageenan consist of sulfur, nitrogen, sodium, chlorine, magnesium, calcium, silicon and aluminum
