With about 21 million hectares of cotton land, Indonesia is the largest in the tropical zone. It accounts for 70% of soil in Southeast Asia and 50% of the soil worldwide. The soil has fibers that divide the pores into macropore and micropore, which results in its capacity to hold a lot of water. The soil has the ability to hold water twice as much as other soils. Based on the standard test ASTM D 2974-87 (1987), dried clay or organic soil samples at a temperature of 105°C. By using the heating method at the same temperature, determine the percentage of water in the area of PT Tempirai Palm Resources in Ogan Komering Ilir district (OKI). The test was carried out on clay soil using 36 samples, which were heated for 10 hours at a temperature of 150 ̊ C to calculate the water level lost. showed that the longer the heating lasts, the more water levels are lost.
