DEGRADASI ZAT WARNA REMAZOL YELLOW MENGGUNAKAN KOMPOSIT Fe3O4/KITOSAN-GLUTARALDEHID/NiO DENGAN METODE FOTOKATALITIK
The textile industry in carrying out its production process produces a fairly high amount of waste in Indonesia. Liquid waste generated by the textile industry can be in the form of dyes, for example Remazol Yellow dye. One of the alternatives for processing textile waste is to use the photocatalytic principle. In this research, the synthesis of the Fe3O4/chitosan-glutaraldehyde/NiO composite was carried out for the degradation of Remazol Yellow dye. Synthesis results were characterized using XRD, SEM-EDS, VSM and UV-VIS DRS tools. The optimum conditions for the degradation of Remazol Yellow dyes used the Fe3O4/chitosan-glutaraldehyde/NiO composite at pH 3 with a concentration of 20 mg/L and a UV irradiation duration of 75 minutes resulted in a degradation effectiveness of 98.4%. The TOC results showed that Remazol Yellow dye contained 7.88 ppm of carbon before degradation and 4.44 ppm after degradation which indicated that the carbon content in Remazol Yellow had been degraded by 43.69%.
