SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI HIDROSIAPATIT DARI CANGKANG KERANG DARAH (Anadara Granosa) DAN PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN SiO2 TERHADAP KEKUATAN TEKAN
Hydroxyapatite is an apatite mineral compound which has a crystalline phase of a stable polycrystalline calcium phosphate compound. This research was carried out to synthesize hydroxyapatite from blood clam shells composited with SiO2. The synthesis of hydroxyapatite was carried out by the Sol Gel method. The HAp:SiO2 composite was characterized using XRD to determine 2θ, crystal size and crystallinity value. The XRD results show that the highest intensity value for hydroxyapatite is at an angle of 2θ 32.28º with a crystallinity of 50.20% and a crystal size of 34.45 nm. The HAp:SiO2 70:30 composite has the highest intensity value which is at an angle of 29.40° with a crystallinity of 54.54% and a crystal size of 2.74 nm. Furthermore, the mechanical properties test in the form of compressive strength test, hydroxyapatite has a compressive strength of 42.33 ± 2.20 MPa. The best composite is HAp:SiO2 with a ratio of 60:40 which has a compressive strength of 271.2 ± 12.98 MPa. The composite was then carried out SEM-EDS aimed at seeing the morphology of the composite and knowing the comparison of these elements. The results of SEM characterization showed that the morphology of the 60:40 composite showed clumps. The results of the EDS characterization showed that the Ca/P ratio was 1.20.
