The ethyl acetate fraction of purple sweet potato leaves contains secondary metabolites of flavonoids, tannins, and phenols, which are thought to have antihyperlipidemic activity. The aim of this study was to determine the antihyperlipidemic activity of the ethyl acetate fraction of purple sweet potato leaves in male albino rats by measuring total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL, as well as liver histopathology. In this study, rats were divided into 6 test groups, namely: normal control (standard diet), negative control (0.01% PTU, 0.5% NaCMC and high fat supplement), positive control (fenofibrate 19.76 mg /kg of body weight) and 3 groups. treatment group (dose 50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg). According to the results of the study, the percentage reduction in total cholesterol obtained in the treatment group at doses of 50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg was 30.7%, 49.2%, 54.3%. The reduction in triglyceride levels obtained in the 50 mg/kg BW group was 30.8%, the 100 mg/kg BW dose was 50.8%, and the 200 mg/kg BW dose was 55.8%. The increase in HDL levels in the 50 mg/kg body weight group was 12.0%, in the 100 mg/kg body weight group - 20.0%, in the 200 mg/kg body weight group - 39.0%. The average decrease in LDL levels in the 50 mg/kg body weight group was 12.5%, in the 100 mg/kg body weight group - 9.3%, in the 200 mg/kg body weight group - 33.1%. Based on the results of studies for all treatment groups, the best dose was 200 mg/kg BB. Based on the relationship between the percentage reduction in hyperlipidemia parameters, the effective dose (ED50) of the ethyl acetate fraction of purple sweet potato leaves was 221.7 mg/kg body weight. The results of a macroscopic study of the liver in rats at doses of 50 mg/kg BW, 100 mg/kg BW, 200 mg/kg BW showed ballooning. The histopathological picture of the liver of rats showed that the dose fraction of 200 mg/kg of BB did not differ from the positive control group, in which necrosis and fattening were insignificant. This shows that the ethyl acetate fraction of purple sweet potato leaves has antihyperlipidemic activity.
