Purple sweet potato leaves are plants that contain secondary metabolites of flavonoids, tannins and phenolics which are proven to have activity as a vasodilator and are able to increase the formation of Nitric Oxide (NO) as so as reducing atherosclerosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving the ethyl acetate fraction of purple sweet potato leaves on blood flow and blood coagulation factors of rats and its effect on the histopathological of the rat's aorta induced by a high-fat diet. In this study, the test animals were divided into six groups: normal control, positive control (2.25 mg/KgBW captopril), negative control (0.5% NaCMC), and three test groups with doses of 50 mg/KgBW, 100 mg/KgBW, and 200 mg/KgBW. Parameters measured were bleeding time, coagulation time, amount of bleeding, APTT, PT and fibrinogen. The results obtained for bleeding time at the time of post-treatment at 50 mg/kg BW were 191.5 ± 2, at the time of coagulation it was 360.5 ± 4.5, at the amount of bleeding it was 80 ± 3.5. Dose of 100 mg/kgBW at bleeding time was 232 ± 2, coagulation time was 36.5 ± 1.5, bleeding amount was 84.5 ± 2. 200 mg/kgBW dose at bleeding time was 244 ± 4.9, coagulation time was 397.5 ± 7.5, the amount of bleeding was 96.5 ± 1. The dose of 50 mg/kg for the APTT test was 33.7 ± 20.5, PT was 9.5 ± 0.2, fibrinogen was 403 ± 9.5. The dose of 100 mg/kg for APTT testing was 30.5 ± 1.1, PT was 9.3 ± 0.1, fibrinogen was 392 ± 161.3. The dose of 200 mg/kg for APTT testing was 26.6 ± 20.6, PT was 9.2 ± 0.1, fibrinogen was 366.5 ± 154.9. Based on the research results, the dose group of 200 mg/kgBW is the most effective dose. Aortic histopathology showed no fatty deposits in the rats in the treatment group with an atherosclerotic lesion score of 0.1.2 for the 50 mg/KgBW, 100 mg/KgBW, and 200 mg/KgBW dose group respectively.
