ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI HIGIENE DAN SANITASI LINGKUNGAN DI PASAR SUNGAI LILIN KABUPATEN MUSI BANYUASIN TAHUN 2O22
Markets are public facility whose activities involve many people with physical interaction that has the potential as a means of spreading disease. Further studies are needed as the results of initial observations are not in accordance with the Regulation of the Ministry of Health No.17 of 2022 concerning the application of personal hygiene, spatial planning, drainage, and market buildings. This study aims to analyze the implementation of environmental hygiene and sanitation at Sungai Lilin Market, Musi Banyuasin District in 2022. This descriptive study used a qualitative approach and was conducted by observation, interviews, and documentation. The determination of informants used a purposive sampling technique involving 15 people. Data were analyzed using the content analysis method. The validity of the data was checked using the triangulation of sources, methods, and data. The results showed that Sungai Lilin market had not fulfilled the requirements for a healthy market according to the Regulation of the Ministry of Health No.17 of 2022. Clean water facilities were not regularly monitored or measured for water quality. In terms of waste management facilities, a landfill was not available. Drainage facilities were not covered with metal grilles and were not smooth. Vector control facilities had never been sprayed regularly every month. Toilet facilities were not separated for men and women. Even, this market did not complete the handwashing facilities with soap and running water. The application of personal hygiene for traders and buyers was not in accordance with the requirements such as incomplete use of personal protective equipment, smoking, spitting, and littering in the market environment. Thus, the research suggests measuring, monitoring, and counseling by sanitarians and market managers to improve the quality of hygiene and environmental sanitation at Sungai Lilin Market, Musi Banyuasin District.
