MODEL COVERING BASED PROBLEMS PENENTUAN LOKASI TEMPAT PENAMPUNGAN SEMENTARA SAMPAH OPTIMAL DI KECAMATAN SUKARAMI KOTA PALEMBANG
Waste is one of the problems in Indonesia caused by lack of public awareness and has a bad impact on the environment. The waste problem in Sukarami, Palembang City arises due to the large population of residents who live. The large number of inhabitants resulted in an increase in the volume of garbage. The Temporary Waste Shelters (TPS) facility is the government's effort in overcoming the waste problem. Therefore, this study aims to optimize the location of TPS in Sukarami District which is spread in 7 sub districts. The problem is solved by formulating a Covering Based Problems model, namely the Set Covering Location Problem (SCLP), Maximal Covering Location Problem (MCLP), and P-Center Location Problem. Sukarami district has 29 waste polling stations spread across only in sub- district 5. Based on the formulation of the SCLP and MCLP models, 19 optimal TPS locations in Sukarami District were obtained which had several location differences and based on the solution of the P-Center Location Problem, 11 TPS locations were obtained to meet the demands of each sub-district. This study recommends a solution from MCLP as the optimal solution for determining TPS in Sukarami District. Keywords : Location Optimization, Temporary Shelter, Set Covering Problem, LINGO, GAMS.
