Basically a heat exchanger is a heat transfer device used to transfer internal heat energy between two or more fluids available at different temperatures. In most heat exchangers, the fluids are separated by heat transfer surfaces, and ideally they do not mix. Heat exchangers are used in process, power, Petroleum, transportation, air conditioning, refigeration, cryogenics, heat recovery, alternative fuels and other industries. Heat exchanger designed so that heat transfer between fluid can take place efficiently. Fluids have different characteristics when the basic water fluid is mixed with nanoparticles, the characteristic properties can change. In this study using TiO2 nanoparticles which will be mixed with the water base fluid as the cooling fluid, for the volume fraction of nanoparticles used, namely 0.3%, 0.5% and 0.7%. this study aims to analyze the result of the convection coefficient and the overall convection coefficient of TiO2 nnofluid in a heat exchanger, to achieve the objectives of this study there are several steps that must be carried out such as data collection of hot fluid temperatures and colling fluid inlet and outlet sides of the heat exchanger, calculation of the mass of nanoparticles to be used for the cooling water mixture, fluid flow rate and fluid flow velocity. the result is that the convection coefficient value for nanofluid is greater than that for ordinary water and the largest convection coefficient value is obtained at 0.5% volume fraction, which is 940.64 W/m2.K
