HUBUNGAN KONDISI FISIK RUMAH DAN PRAKTIK HYGIENE DENGAN KEJADIAN TUBERKULOSIS PADA USIA PRODUKTIF DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS MERDEKA KOTA PALEMBANG TAHUN 2022
WHO defines Tuberculosis (TB) as a deadly infectious disease, an increase in TB cases has been recorded from 52 cases (2021) to 63 cases (2022), or around 17.5% at the Merdeka Health Center in Palembang City. This study aims to determine the relationship between hygiene behavior and the house's physical condition on the incidence of pulmonary TB at productive age in the Merdeka Health Center, Palembang City working area. This quantitative research used a case-control design by taking a random sample of 102 respondents with a ratio of 1:1. Data were analysed univariately, bivariate to determine the relationship between variables based on the Chi-Square test, and multivariate multiple logistic regression to determine the most dominant risk factor. The results showed that there was a relationship between smoking status (p-value=0.000), humidity (p-value=0.001), ventilation (p-value=0.000), and occupancy density (p-value=0.000) with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in productive age in the working area of the Merdeka Health Center in Palembang City. The most dominant variable influencing the incidence of pulmonary TB is ventilation (p-value = 0.000) with OR = 10.962. Hygiene behavior and poor physical condition of the house can cause pulmonary TB. Researchers suggest that the community implements good hygiene behavior, keeps the house clean, implements family planning, and opens windows regularly.
