ANALISIS FAKTOR RISIKO KEJADIAN PNEUMONIA PADA ANAK BALITA 12-59 BULAN DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KENTEN KOTA PALEMBANG TAHUN 2022
Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection that attacks the lungs. This disease has contributed nearly one-third (14% -15%) of all deaths in children under five years. Based on Riskesdas data in 2018, the prevalence of pneumonia in children under five (12-59 months) in Indonesia is 74,954 cases. This study aims to determine what risk factors are associated with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five 12-59 months at Working Area of the Kenten Public Health Center, Palembang City in 2022. This study used an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The samples used were 121 samples using a sampling technique in the form of non-probability sampling with purposive sampling. Statistical analysis carried out in this study included univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression with a predictive model. The results showed that there was a relationship between birth weight (p-value 0.008), basic immunization status (p-value 0.001), and history of exclusive breastfeeding (p-value 0.010) with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five. While the variables of mother's education (p-value 1.000), mother's occupation (p-value 0.378), parents' income (p-value 0.768), and exposure to cigarette smoke (p-value 0.818) have no relationship with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the basic immunization status was the most dominant variable or had the greatest influence on the incidence of pneumonia in children under five after controlling for birth weight and history of exclusive breastfeeding (PR = 5.332; 95% CI: 1.290 – 22.034). It was concluded that there was a significant relationship between birth weight, basic immunization status and history of exclusive breastfeeding with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five at Working Area of the Kenten Health Center. Basic immunization status is the most dominant risk faktor. It is hoped that the community can prevent toddlers from getting pneumonia by meeting the nutritional needs of mothers and children since they are in the womb, completing basic and advanced immunizations given in a timely manner, and providing exclusive breastfeeding until the baby is 6 months old.
