ANALISIS LAJU SEDIMENTASI DAN KARAKTERISTIK SEDIMEN DI PERAIRAN KETAPANG, LAMPUNG SELATAN
The coast of Ketapang, South Lampung is a sloping coastal area with the potential for sedimentation. Several hydro-oseanographic factors such as currents, tides and ocean waves are thought to trigger this phenomenon. The sedimentation process is also influenced by the activities of ponds, harbors, fishermen and household activities. The research objective was to determine the sedimentation rate and sediment characteristics as well as hydro-oseanographic factors that affect sedimentation in Ketapang Waters, South Lampung. The research was conducted from June to August 2022. The parameters measured were sedimentation rate, sediment grain size and hydro-oseanographic data which were then analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The results showed that the sediment characteristics in Ketapang Waters, South Lampung Regency were fine sand to clay (phi range 6.59 - 8.65). The average sedimentation rate value is 1.2518 gr/cm²/day. The highest sedimentation rate was at station 1 (2.0079 gr/cm²/day) and the lowest sedimentation was at station 4 (0.7984 gr/cm²/day). Sediment in Ketapang Waters, South Lampung experienced high deposition due to the strength of currents and waves is small and the value of tidal formzahl number is small causing uneven sediment distribution. The largest input of sediment material comes from the mouth of the Berudung Village river and the mouth of a small river from Vaname shrimp farming.
