Age 1-3 years is a period of growth spurt, so it requires the most nutritional needs compared to the following periods. Based on data from the Palembang City Health Office in 2020, the prevalance of nutritional problems in toddlers at the Puskesmas Sebelas Ilir is te highest in Palembang City. One of parameters that determine the nutritional status of children is feeding practice in children. Inappropriate feeding practice can cause eating behavior problmes in children. The purpose of this study was to analyze association maternal behavior in implementation of feeding rules to the incidence of mouth shut movement, nutrient adequacy level and nutritional status of children under three years old in Puskesmas Sebelas Ilir working area of Palembang City. This study is quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were mother who had children aged 12-36 months who were registered in Puskesmas Sebelas Ilir working area of Palembang City amounting to 75 samples with a sampling technique of simple random sampling. The result showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal behavior in implementation of feeding rules on the incidence of mouth shut movement, adequate levels of energy and carbphydrates of children under three years old. However, there was no significant relationship between maternal behavior in implementation of feeding rules on the nutritional status, adequate levels of protein, fat, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, and zinc of children under three years old. Based on the results of this study, the implementation of feeding rules can have a positive impact on the growth dan development at children, so it needs to be applied since the introduction of weaning food.
