PERBANDINGAN UJI EFEKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN PADA GASTROPODA DAN CRUSTACEA YANG BERASAL DARI KAWASAN TANJUNG API-API, PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DPPH, ABTS, DAN FRAP
The number of antioxidant activity test methods can provide diverse test results. Commonly used methods include DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP methods. The study was conducted in September-December 2022 using samples from the gastropod and crustacean classes. Test solutions that have been made according to their respective concentrations are measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, then calculated the percent inhibition and antioxidant activity is determined by the IC50 value by analyzing probit from log concentration data and percent inhibition. In the DPPH method, the three samples did not change color to yellow, in the ABTS method did not change color to clear, and in the FRAP method there was no color change. Therefore, the qualitative results indicated that the three samples had very weak antioxidant activity. In the DPPH method, Nerita articulata extract has a higher average percent inhibition. In ABTS and FRAP methods, the average percent inhibition of Cerithidea obtusa extract was higher. All three sample extracts have IC50 values of more than 200 ppm, and it is suspected that the extracts have very weak antioxidant activity. The three methods provide results that are not much different with a significant correlation coefficient value, so the effectiveness of the three methods is interrelated in stabilizing free radicals. Therefore, the three methods influence and complement each other. The ability of antioxidant compounds in gastropod extracts tested using DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP methods had better antioxidant activity than crustacean extracts. DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP methods have no significant difference and influence on antioxidant effectiveness. Therefore, the different antioxidant values of the extract samples in each method did not affect the antioxidant effectiveness.
