UJI TOKSISITAS AKUT FRAKSI N-HEKSAN DAUN UBI JALAR UNGU (Ipomoea batatas L.) TERHADAP TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR DENGAN METODE FIXED DOSE PROCEDURE
Purple sweet potato leaves has pharmachology activities such as antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-mutagenic activity, immune modulation, hepatoprotector and its n-hexane fraction has antihyperlipidemic activity. This study was conducted to determine the acute toxicity of purple sweet potato leaves n-hexane fraction of which included the toxic doses, the effect on biochemical, macroscopic and histopathological parameters of the heart, liver, and kidneys of male white rats of the Wistar strain. Acute toxicity test was carried out using the fixed dose procedure method. In the sighting test, the animal test was collected into 5 groups, namely the normal group, a dose of 5 mg/KgBW, a dose of 50 mg/KgBW, a dose of 300 mg/KgBW, and a dose of 2000 mg/KgBW. The test animals were divided into the normal group and the 2000 mg/KgBW dose group in the main test. Significant weight change did not occur during the 14 days of observation for both groups (p>0,05). The normal group biochemical parameter levels were normal for SGOT 173.94 ± 4.326 U/L, SGPT 65.776 ± 15.554 U/L, creatinine 0.653 ± 0.015 mg/dL, and urea 33.416 ± 3.061 mg/dL, while the rat group 2000 mg/kgBW for SGOT 166.543±17.480 U/L, SGPT 73.576±4.845 U/L, creatinine 0.667±0.020 mg/dL, and urea 37.646±5.957 mg/dL. The purple sweet potato leaf n-hexane fraction had no effect on the macroscopicity of the liver, kidneys, and heart of the test animals (p>0.05). Administration of the n-hexane fraction of purple sweet potato leaves at a dose of 2000 mg/KgBW did not show macroscopic damage to the liver, kidneys, and heart, but showed damage to the liver and kidneys histopathologically, they showed necrosis.
