Wetland can be defined as a land surface which holds water either periodically or permanently. Both natural and artificial wetland have important role in daily gas circulation as well as carbon balance. Farmers are known to have high hazard potential due to the low rate of implementing the health and safety work regulation. This issue results in the yearly increase of work-related accident. Air pollution containing particulate matter component can be carcinogenic substance within human body, thus causing symptoms such as coughing, phlegm, and asphyxiate. The following research, which was implemented the observational analytic design with cross sectional approach, was conducted in Sungai Rebo and Pulokerto, South Sumatera. The univariate results indicated 15 people (57,1%) who suffers respiratory disorders, 32 people (91,4%) who uses personal protective equipment, 1 house (2,9%) with PM10 ≥ 70 μg/m3, 1 house (2,9%) with CO2 ≥ 1000 ppm, 32 houses with air bacterial rate of ≥ 300 CFU/m3, 18 houses (51,4%) with air fungi rate of ≥ 48 CFU/m3. The result from bivariate test indicated that the education level and personal protective equipment use is highly related with respiratory disorders. The multivariate variable result concluded that the sociodemographic, knowledge, personal protective equipment, air indoor quality are not the risk factors of respiratory disorders in wetland.
