FOTODEGRADASI ZAT WARNA METILEN BIRU MENGGUNAKAN BENTONIT-PDA-TIO2
The research on photodegradation of methylene blue dye using Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 has been done. Bentonite-PDA and TiO2 were synthesized with ratio comparison (1:1). The success of Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 synthesis were characterized using XRD, SEM-EDX, and UV-Vis DRS. The photodegradation proccess of methylene blue variables including the effect of concentration dye, contact time, and mass composite. The result of the XRD Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 showed crystal size of 22,42 nm. Morphological Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 showed a porous structure. The results of EDX Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 showed that the constituent elements of C, O, Al, Si, Ti, K, and Fe were 28,36%, 47,89%, 2,17%, 8,67%, 10,43%, 0,12%, and 0,44%. The UV-Vis DRS characterization showed an energy band gap of 3,31 eV. Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 has a pHpzc at pH 7. The best condition for degradation of methylene blue dye on the effect concentration dye of 40 mg/L, contact time of 60 minutes, and mass composite of 50 mg obtained the percent of reduction in the concentration of methylene blue dye with UV irradiation of 98,89% and without UV irradiation 96,05% and the test result using TOC with concentration of 40 mg/L were 82,82%. The result showed that Bentonite-PDA-TiO2 was able to degrade methylene blue dye.
