ANALISA POMPA AIR TANPA MOTOR DAN PENERAPANNYA UNTUK PENGAIRAN LAHAN SAWAH DI DESA TANJUNG PERING
The main problem to increase the crop index (IP) and productivity of rice fields is the difficulty of meeting the needs of sufficient water in rice fields throughout the year. In the dry season paddy fields usually lack water and in the rainy season will be excess water. This phenomenon makes it difficult to increase the growing season more than once a year (>IP100). One method that can be applied to regulate the water needs of rice plants throughout the year is to use a pump system. This pump is needed in addition to taking water from water sources whose existence is lower than the planting land, also to remove excess water when flooding/inundation during excessive rain. In addition to the issue of procurement of pump units that are expensive and must always be kept safe, to operate it also requires electricity that is difficult to reach the location of rice fields that are far from settlements. Although it can use a generator with fuel to drive the motor, this will increase its operating costs. In recent years there have been many videos featuring water pump instruments without motors on the YouTube channel. Although this topic is interesting, it turns out that scientific journals that review the theoretical basis and evidence are still very limited, there are even articles and videos that state that this pump is impossible to prove in the real world. In addition to the proof, this study was conducted to help the people of Tanjung Pering Village, Kab. Ogan Ilir Prov. South Sumatra overcome the problem of water supply in agricultural land without burdened with daily operational costs. The basic theory that most closely approximates the concept of this pump is a modification of the siphon theory (water transfer through pipes without a machine) that manipulates the water pressure in the suction pipe and the output pipe, so as to raise the water with a certain height difference. The study analyzed some of the most likely journals and videos to be substantiated. Based on data analysis and validation, efforts were made to optimize the speed and flow rate to meet water needs in paddy fields.
