OPTIMASI ADSORPSI ZAT WARNA METILEN BIRU MENGGUNAKAN METODE RSM DENGAN ADSORBEN KOMPOSIT CaO(CANGKANG TELUR AYAM)/PEG/Fe3O4
Dyes play a very important role in life, including being used in the textile are synthetic dyes, for example methylene blue. Methylene blue dye if thrown into the water can cause damage to the environment. One alternative method that can be used to reduce the liquid waste is the adsorpion method. The adsorbent used CaO from chicken egg shells. The research is about optimizing the adsorption of methylene blue dye using the rsm method with CaO (chicken egg shell)/PEG/Fe3O4 composite. Chicken egg shells were prepared to obtain CaO powder which would then be composited with PEG and magnetite nanoparticles. The CaO/PEG/Fe3O4 composite was made with a mass ratio of 1 : 0.5 : 1. The synthesized material was characterized using XRD, VSM, and BET. The results of the characterization using XRD showed the highest intensity at an angle of 2θ = 35.60°. The VSM characterization results obtained a saturation magnetization (Ms) value of 64.97 emu/g. The BET characterization results obtained a surface area of 104.101 m2/g and a pore volume of 0.285151 cc/g, and a pore diameter of 57.43Å. Optimization of the adsorption of methylene blue dye was carried out using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) design with a Control Composite Design (CCD) model. Based on the analysis of design experts 13, the best efficiency conditions were obtained at pH 10, concentration of 1.48 ppm, and contact time of 120 minutes with an efficiency percentage of 89.39% and a desirability value of 0.995. Keywords : Chicken egg shell, CaO/PEG/Fe3O4 composite, methylene blue, RSM.
