KARAKTERISTIK VISUS, DEFEK LAPANG PANDANG, DAN PERSEPSI WARNA PADA PASIEN MASSA INTRAKRANIAL DI RSMH
Intracranial mass is a broad term for a lesion in the brain, specifically in the intracranial space. Intracranial masses can be defined as neoplasms, whether benign or malignant, primary or secondary, as well as inflammatory or parasitic masses located in the cranial cavity. Patients with an intracranial mass often complain of visual disturbances as an initial symptom affecting 22% of the patient population with an intracranial mass. The cause of decreased visual acuity, visual field defect and impaired eye movement can be caused by compression of the visual pathways. This study aims to determine the characteristics of visual acuity, visual field defects, and color perception in patients with intracranial masses. This research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional research design. The research data used were medical record data intracranial mass patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang seen between January 2020 – December 2022. Inclusion and exclusion criteria is used to select the eligible patients for this study. Among a total of 64 patients with intracranial masses, the most characteristics were found in the age group 19-44 years (43.8%) and male (64.1%). Classification of intracranial masses that experienced the most decreased vision were neuronal tumors (28.1%) and located in the temporal lobe (28.1%). Obtained intracranial mass patients with impaired vision as many as 58 patients (90.6%); visual field defects in 23 patients (36.9%); and color blind in 5 patients (7.8%).
