PENGARUH AKTIVATOR ASAM SULFAT DAN CAMPURAN PEREKAT KULIT PISANG KEPOK SERTA TAPIOKA TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK BIOBRIKET KULIT BUAH PINANG
Biomass can be improved in quality by forming it into biobriquettes. Biobriquettes are an alternative source of materials derived from organic materials such as areca nut shells, which have the potential to be converted into biobriquettes due to their abundant availability and relatively high content of cellulose and hemicellulose. Areca nut peel biobriquettes in this study used sulfuric acid activator and kepok banana peel adhesive, tapioca mixture with carbonization process using a microwave, sulfuric acid concentrations of 1, 1.5 and 2 N and kepok banana peels of 2, 3 and 4 grams. The parameters consisted of the levels ; water, ash, volatile matter, carbon and calorific value. To find out the influencing variables, a way ANOVA or one-way ANOVA test is carried out. The results showed that the optimal conditions of 2 N sulfuric acid and 2 grams of kepok banana peel used were the best variations, with a moisture content of 3.85%, ash content of 10.33%, volatile matter content of 20.19%, carbon content of 65.63% and with a calorific value of 7706.28 Cal/g. Reducing the weight of mixed banana peels and increasing the concentration of added sulfuric acid, the levels that meet the requirements of SNI 01-6235-2000 are water content and heating value.
