PENGARUH LARUTAN OBAT KUMUR TERHADAP KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN RESIN KOMPOSIT UNIVERSAL SINGLE SHADE
Background: Mouthwashes are oral hygiene product used to improve oral health. However, mouthwashes are generally acidic, which causes an increase in the surface roughness of restorative materials. Currently, there is no study that measures the surface roughness of single-shade universal composite resin after immersion in alcohol-containing and alcohol-free mouthwash. Objective: Aimed of this study was to determine the effect of mouthwashes on the single-shade universal composite resin surface roughness. Method: This study used experimental research with a post test only control group. Eighteen spherical samples were made with a silicone mold (10 x 2 mm). Then, samples were divided into three immersion groups: distilled water, alcohol-containing mouthwash, and alcohol-free mouthwash. Surface roughness tester was used to determine the surface roughness of each sample after immersion for 24 hours at 37°C in an incubator. The data were statistically analyzed with a one-way ANOVA and Post Hoc LSD test. Results: The highest surface roughness mean of single-shade universal composite resin was found after immersion in alcohol-containing mouthwash, followed by alcohol-free mouthwash and distilled water. There were significant differences found between all test groups (p
